John,

ICE agents are very likely to show up at polling locations this November. But the agents don't even have to physically show up to intimidate voters.

To suppress a vote, you just need people afraid that one might be there. If a mother in a targeted neighborhood believes there is a chance she'll be detained on her way to vote, she stays home. No arrest. No confrontation. No headline. Just a vote that never gets cast.

Fear is the cheapest, quietest form of voter suppression ever invented. And this administration has spent the entire year manufacturing exactly that fear between the raids, the detentions, and the threats in the specific communities whose votes decide close races.

We are sending organizers and community leaders to be on the ground in six battleground states, in place before November, so that fear doesn't get the last word.

But that presence has to be built and funded now — not after the fear has already done its work. Chip in $25 tonight to help us make sure no voter has to choose between their safety and their vote. [ [link removed] ]
