John,

Hurricane season has hit full force. Hurricane Laura’s damage alone has
already cost gulf communities between $8 and $12 billion dollars -
communities that are still suffering the impacts of Hurricane Katrina 15
years later.

Communities in the gulf and across the nation are experiencing the
frontline impacts of the climate crisis, economic recession, and police
violence - all while we continue to see over 1,000 people die per day from
COVID in the United States. With 61 days until this pivotal election, we
have a chance to set a new agenda for the next Congress - an agenda that
puts human life before corporate greed.  

In the coming weeks, we must do everything we can to get candidates at
every level to commit to the Just Recovery Pledge. This week, we are
asking you to participate in our Just Recovery Challenge. It will only
take a few minutes. Use your social media to send the candidates of your
choice a message:
