This is huge.
Hi John,
Today, every conversation a volunteer has through Ground Truth can do more than ever before.
That’s because Swing Left has helped broker a landmark data agreement with the DNC, Democratic state parties, and the Democratic Data Exchange that opens the door to a new era of collaboration across the Democratic ecosystem.
For years, valuable voter insights often stayed siloed inside individual organizations. But now, thanks to this agreement and a new Federal Election Commission (FEC) advisory opinion, when a volunteer with “outside” groups like Swing Left has a conversation with a voter and logs what they hear, those insights can flow openly to the DNC, state parties, and Democratic campaigns.
Democrats can now create truly open source party infrastructure where grassroots organizations, campaigns, and party committees can build on one another’s work instead of duplicating it, each contributing what they do best.
This means organizations like Swing Left can experiment with new ways to reach voters and gather insights, knowing that the data they generate will help the entire party innovate and advance. Campaigns, state parties, and national committees, in turn, can adopt and scale what works instead of starting from scratch every cycle.
But this new agreement only matters if there’s data to share.
We’ve set an ambitious goal of 500,000 substantive Ground Truth conversations before Election Day, and every additional conversation makes this shared infrastructure more valuable for Democrats everywhere.
To celebrate this giant step forward for the Democratic ecosystem, we’re asking you to help put this new agreement to work:
