This week, we achieved yet another major victory for Washingtonians.

First — Washingtonians overwhelmingly adopted Initiative 1639’s common sense gun safety measures to combat mass shootings, including enhanced background checks for assault weapons.

Then — The NRA and Second Amendment Foundation filed a lawsuit in federal court trying to strike down these important protections. My legal team stepped in to defend the voter-approved law.

Now — A federal judge appointed by George W. Bush ruled Initiative 1639 is constitutional.

I am proud of my team’s winning record standing up to powerful special interests — including the gun lobby. This is our second legal victory against the gun lobby’s efforts to block laws adopted by Washingtonians. If the NRA appeals this ruling, we will defeat them again.

But we must do more to protect our schools and communities from mass shootings. This session I am once again introducing legislation to limit high-capacity magazines and ban the sale of assault weapons.

Will you show your support for common sense gun safety measures like limiting high-capacity magazines and banning the sale of assault weapons?

Thank you for making your voice heard. Thanks to your dedication, we met our end-of-month fundraising goal! I am so grateful to have you on this team.

Bob
