NYT: Trump Leans on Congress to Address His False Claims of Voter Fraud [[link removed]]
President Trump has been trying everything his advisors can think of -- including blocking a bipartisan housing relief bill -- to press Congress to advance stalled legislation that purports to address his often-repeated -- and equally debunked -- claims of widespread election fraud. There are stats from the conservative, right-wing Heritage Foundation below that prove it.
The SAVE America Act was fast-tracked by opponents of voting rights and passed the U.S. House of Representatives. Now Trump and his MAGA minions are meeting with U.S. Senators, scheming for ways to get this bill through the Senate ahead of November's midterms.
This bill is a stunning assault on our fundamental right to vote, and we can not afford to let this anti-democratic legislation become law, John.
PITCH IN $35 RIGHT NOW TO STOP THE SAVE AMERICA ACT NOW ➜ [[link removed]]
Don’t be fooled by the name. This bill would force every voter to present specific types of proof of citizenship to register -- something millions of eligible Americans don’t have on hand. And that’s the point. The bill would also obliterate popular methods of voter registration for all voters, including:
* Registration by mail
* 3rd party voter registration drives
* Online voter registration in states that allow it
* Automatic voter registration
Some estimates say that this bill could disenfranchise up to 11 million eligible Americans , especially women and those who live in under-resourced communities.
“ There’s never been an attack on voting rights out of Congress like this ,” said Alexander Keyssar, a professor of History and Social Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and a leading historian of voting rights. “ It’s always been the federal government trying to keep states in check on voting rights, for the most part. ”
John, the consequences of a bill like this passing would be catastrophic for our democracy. Chip in with $35 or whatever you can today to stop the SAVE AMERICA Act and other voter suppression bills from becoming law >> [[link removed]]

How do we know non-citizen voting is a made up problem? Because red states and conservative-leaning institutions have spent millions in taxpayer money and donor dollars searching for it and finding minimal results.
For example: The pro-Trump Heritage Foundation -- an organization that has funded anti-voting initiatives for decades -- maintains a database of "election crimes." Their own records only list 24 instances of non-citizens voting in U.S. elections from 2003 to 2023 . In other words -- 20 years of elections, millions of votes, and only 24 alleged non-citizen voters.
Reuters has a fuller accounting in recent reporting. Florida, for example, spent millions investigating voter fraud and creating a new state department to oversee election security. They've only prosecuted two non-citizens for voting since 2022. North Carolina said they found nine non-citizens registered to vote out of 7.7 million voters. Utah recently investigated their entire voter roll of 2.1 million registered voters and found one registered non-citizen who never attempted to vote.
The conservative CATO Institute says it best: " These investigations affirm what is simply common sense. People largely aren’t willing to risk their status in the United States — the land of economic opportunity — for the ability to cast one more vote out of hundreds of thousands or millions in a state and hundreds of millions in the country. "
John, the lies aren't going to stop, but we can push back and make sure bills like this abomination never pass. Pitch in $35 or however much you can to stand against voter suppression bills in Congress and beyond >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
