Dear Friends,

Election day is coming fast – November 3rd – and each and every one of us should have a plan to cast our ballots. Our right to vote is one of the sacred tenets of our democracy, and the battle to secure those rights was hard-won. It is our duty and our tribute to those who fought for voting rights to exercise those rights. As Congressman John Lewis said, “The vote is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have.”

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the State of Maryland has created new policies to ensure that people can vote in a manner that addresses their concerns for health and safety. This includes a vote by mail option for any registered voter. The Board of Elections will send all active Maryland registered voters an application for a mail-in ballot, but you may also go online and request a ballot right now.

In summary, you can:
- Request a ballot and vote by mail or return your mail-in ballot to a designated drop-box
- Vote early, between Monday, October 26th and Monday, November 2nd
- Vote in-person on November 3rd

To reach the Maryland Board of Elections, go to [link removed], where you will find the information necessary to ensure that you are registered, the options you have for casting your vote, and the details regarding both early voting and drop-box locations.

If you choose to vote by mail, the earlier you request your ballot, the better.

Make sure your vote counts. Make sure you are registered and know how and where to cast your ballot. Exercise the right that our heroes fought to secure. Nothing is more important.

Stay well, stay strong,

Brian
