Nuthall Road
Second phase of improvement works set to start
The next section of work to improve Nuthall Road will start on Sunday (9 August).
Nottingham City Council is resurfacing the road (pavements where required) and improving the area around the base of the trees where roots have damaged the pavement between Western Boulevard and Aspley Lane.
Work began at the end of June and continues until 1 September, with some weekend work. The hours of work will vary to suit the network. Please see information below and attached plans for further details on inbound and outbound road closures and diversion routes.
The inbound carriageway runs from Western Boulevard to Aspley Lane. The outbound carriageway runs from Aspley Lane to Western Boulevard.

Gregory Boulevard
Gregory Boulevard transformation is under way
Nottingham City Council started work this week (3 August) on a project to make changes along Gregory Boulevard to make the area safer for everyone - especially those walking and cycling.
Following the allocation of funding from the East Midlands Combined Authority (EMCCA) and national government for this project, the council has been planning the project and consulting with local people.
Engagement was carried out in May and June 2026 with more than two thirds (69 per cent) of respondents indicating they were supportive of the proposals.
The improvements along Gregory Boulevard between the A60 Mansfield Road and Noel Street will include:
* adding 850 metres of cycle path, separate from the road
* resurfacing the road and pavements
* upgrading existing crossings and adding a new signalised crossing for pedestrians and cyclists
* adding plants which help manage surface water and create habitat for wildlife
The construction programme is scheduled to last approximately 13 months, ending in late summer 2027.
The works have been planned around Goose Fair (with no works coinciding with the fair) and to take advantage of the summer holidays when traffic levels are lower, to help cause as little disruption as possible.

Wilkinson Street
Last weekend of buses replacing NET trams
Maintenance work, involving buses replacing trams, comes to an end this weekend.
Work has been carried out for the past fortnight to replace track at Wilkinson Street and Noel Street. Normal service will resume on Monday (10 August).
There will continue to be no tram services operating between Wilkinson Street and The Forest this weekend, with a replacement bus service travelling in a loop to serve both stops.
NET have previously asked passengers to allow additional time for their journey. Customers who usually park in the Wilkinson Street car park are encouraged to consider using The Forest instead to minimise disruption to their journey.

Tram bridge and lift
Lift to tram platform temporarily out of action
NET trams continue to work on the Station Street lift, which is being replaced over the coming weeks and is temporarily out of use.
The works will run until Friday 14 August and will see a new lift installed to take people between street level and the tram bridge above.
Alternative lifts are available inside the train station and at the car park next door - both serve the tram platform. Access via the stairs at Station Street will remain during the work.
