Tell AG Rob Bonta thank you for blocking the merger!

Dear John,

You know you really ticked someone off when they have to write a whole New York Times opinion piece to respond. This week, David Ellison was forced to put pen to paper to justify the Paramount and Warner Bros. merger that has been challenged in federal court. Ellison, a billionaire heir and staunch supporter of the Zionist project, admitted that the optics of the deal left a bad taste in the American people's mouths because of his own politics.

"I believe a plainer worry sits beneath the briefs and the news releases: the news. The issue is whether I can be trusted as a steward of Warner’s CNN. There has been speculation about my politics, my loyalties, my intentions."

He's right. That was the whole point of our campaign, and every other campaign run by industry workers, writers, and concerned Americans. It's a testament to the relentless work so many people across the country put into educating the public about the potential merger and its consequences. Together, we took a stance against monopolization and Israeli propaganda, and we won. David Ellison must confront that fact — and self-victimizing in the New York Times won't change it.

Send a thank-you letter to California Attorney General Rob Bonta for fighting back against the merger!

News & analysis

Largest funeral ever in Palestine. Photo: Jehad Alshrafi/AP

👉🏼 The West Bank is being looted and burned as the IOF and Israeli settlers work together to exterminate Palestinians. In July alone, there were 2,200 settler attacks in the West Bank. In all of 2025, there were 1,800. This is an unprecedented escalation, as Israel continues to approve more illegal settlements, pouring millions of dollars into terrorizing, displacing, and killing Palestinians.

👉🏼 The largest funeral in all of Palestine's history happened on August 4th. After 112 members of the Al-Hasayna and Abu Sharia families were recovered under the rubble in Gaza, a mass procession was held to honor their martyrdom. Images of hundreds of people in the streets holding bodies wrapped in Palestinian flags flooded social media and made headlines.

👉🏼
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya has sustained serious injuries to his ribcage after again being assaulted in Israel's Ofer prison. Another doctor, Dr. Mazen Al-Rantisi, nicknamed "doctor of the poor" because of his affordable care, has been detained in a similar prison since June 21st. Like Dr. Abu Safiya, Dr. Al-Rantisi has reportedly been beaten, teargassed, and denied medical care. Targeting Palestinian healthcare workers and destroying health infrastructure is a key part of Israel's genocidal strategy.

👉🏼
In a historic win against the AIPAC lobby, Abdul El-Sayed won the Michigan Senate primary against Haley Stevens. Super PACs spent a whopping sixty million dollars in an attempt to defeat El-Sayed, a progressive, Arab, and Muslim. His win speaks to the toxic nature of AIPAC and the Israel lobby as the tide continues to turn against the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Personal note from Jenin

It's hard to get too excited about the merger being blocked and El-Sayed winning when heart-wrenching images from Palestine still plague my social media feed. Public opinion has shifted dramatically, but at what cost? The largest Palestinian funeral ever just took place in Gaza. I am seeing my village in the news more than I have ever seen before as settler terror accelerates across the West Bank. The situation in Palestine is becoming increasingly dire while so many of us are becoming increasingly desensitized.

I think it's healthy to sit in the grief for a little because it makes the situation in Palestine feel real again. We have to acknowledge the losses and sacrifices so that we have something to fight and feel for. The pain is another reminder that we would not be experiencing such horror if Israel did not feel threatened. All its plays are defensive, and the more the Zionist project depletes itself, the more it digs its own grave. Here's to more wins and, hopefully, to the ultimate win of liberation very soon.

Until liberation,
