Dear John
Gippsland-based army veteran Warren Pickering will lead One Nation’s campaign for the 2026 Victorian state election.
Warren, 43, is also One Nation’s candidate for Pakenham. He joined Federal leader Senator Pauline Hanson in Melbourne on Monday to announce lead upper house candidates in each region.
“Warren has done a great job as state president of One Nation in Victoria,” Senator Hanson said. “I have every confidence he will be an effective leader of the team we’re taking to the Victorian election.”
Warren’s team of leading Legislative Council candidates includes Shepparton-based Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell MLC, the first One Nation candidate ever elected to Victoria’s Parliament and a strong advocate for farmers, irrigators and regional communities.
They will be joined by education expert and commentator Colleen Harkin (South-Eastern Metropolitan), animator and company director Mark Nicholson (Northern Metropolitan) – one of the creative geniuses behind the Please Explain cartoons – lawyer Aaron Sanford (Southern Metropolitan), office manager and volunteer Natalie Adams (North-Eastern Metropolitan), Geelong councillor Chris Burson (Western Victoria), human resources manager Fiona Lopez (Western Metropolitan) and Greg Hansford (Eastern Victoria).
Senator Hanson said more One Nation candidates would be announced soon.
“We’ll be running candidates in every seat at this election,” she said. “We’ll have a talented team of people intent on restoring Victoria and kicking out the tired and toxic Labor government which has run this state into the ground, getting away with it thanks to a weak Liberal opposition.
“Violent crime is out of control. Union corruption has been allowed to flourish at a huge cost to taxpayers. High levels of immigration have driven Victoria’s housing crisis. Labor’s obsession with net zero is driving the state’s cost of living through the roof and destroying some of Victoria’s best farming land. The state’s roads are full of potholes. Taxes in Victoria are the highest of any state – and so is the debt. Victoria is over-taxed and over-regulated.
“Vast amounts of money have been wasted on treaty legislation and a useless indigenous representative body. One Nation will completely dismantle it.
“One Nation will go to this election with the policies needed to turn Victoria back in the right direction. Victorians are crying out for change, and for leadership which puts their interests first.”
