$30 million. Let me say that again. Thirty million dollars.
That’s how much AIPAC spent to try to take down Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s Democratic primary. And it didn’t work.
Why?
We’ve spent the last three years watching in real-time as Israel carries out genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, land-grabs, and settler-violence while US taxpayers foot the bill.
A real consensus has formed among Americans of all backgrounds: Why are we paying billions to help Israel commit these horrible crimes against humanity when we can’t even afford healthcare, childcare, and education at home?
AIPAC may have deep pockets, but that doesn’t undo what we’ve all seen unfold in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. $30 million doesn’t undo 80 years of occupation, apartheid, violence, and abuse playing out right in front of our eyes.
We may not have the same resources as the billionaire-backed pro-Israel lobby, but we have the honesty, the moral clarity, and the political courage to stand up for Palestinian human rights and organize a mass movement around peace and justice for all.
So, I have to remind you: My primary election is just five days away. I have led the fight in Congress to block aid to Israel and bring real accountability for their war crimes on the international stage. That’s made me a consistent target of AIPAC and the entire pro-Israel far-right.
