Emergency response is underway as Louisiana recovers from Hurricane Laura. Your gift today can help homeless animals.
ASPCA Provides Critical Hurricane Response
About a week after Hurricane Laura made landfall as a Category 4 storm, much of Louisiana is still feeling the effects from the devastating heavy rainfall and high winds. In order to make room for the displaced pets who continue to enter their shelter, the Louisiana SPCA requested our assistance in transporting 30 homeless dogs to SPCA Tampa Bay.

Our animal relocation team deployed immediately to safely transport these 30 dogs across state lines, where they will be made available for adoption.

Right now, as recovery efforts continue, we are preparing to deploy to Louisiana in response to an emergency animal sheltering request. The overflow of displaced animals requires an emergency setup, where our team of sheltering experts will provide care and enrichment for up to 100 cats and dogs. Your support allows us to respond at a moment’s notice when urgent requests are made.

As wildfires rage on in the West and more severe storms develop, we anticipate more requests for our assistance to come in. Despite the pandemic, we are prepared to safely respond to the call for help. Please give now to support our critical response work, and all our lifesaving programs that impact countless animals every day.
