
Texas Music Incubator Rebate Info Session in Galveston
The Texas Music Office invites live music venue owners, operators, and music festival promoters from across Texas to attend a free informational session on the Texas Music Incubator Rebate Program (TMIR) on August 14, 2026, at Hotel Lucine in Galveston. Open to all Texas venue owners, the session will provide an overview of program eligibility, the application process, and how qualified applicants can receive up to $100,000 in rebates. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to prepare for the upcoming application cycle.
The session will take place from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026. Applications for the Texas Music Incubator Rebate Program will officially open on September 1, 2026, making this an ideal opportunity to gain valuable insights before applying. Heath Becomes a Certified Music Friendly Texas Community
The City of Heath proudly celebrated its designation as a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community during a special ceremony held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Towne Center Park Amphitheater Stage. The event recognized Heath's commitment to supporting local musicians, fostering music-related economic development, and creating opportunities for live music to thrive throughout the community.
The official Music Friendly Texas Community certification was presented by Gini Mascorro of the Texas Music Office, marking an important milestone for the city. Community leaders, residents, and visitors gathered to commemorate the achievement and celebrate Heath's growing role in Texas' vibrant music scene, reinforcing the city's dedication to arts, culture, and community engagement.

Texas Takeover at AmericanaFest
The First Annual Texas Takeover comes to Nashville on Saturday, September 19, as the official AmericanaFest Texas Day Party, showcasing some of the best Americana artists from Texas. Presented by the Texas Music Office and Travel Texas, with support from Prekindle, Hear Fort Worth, Visit Dallas, and Kessler Presents, the free event takes place from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Skinny Dennis, 2635 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216. Open to the public, no AmericanaFest wristband is required to attend, making it an opportunity for music fans to experience Texas talent during one of the genre's premier festivals.
The inaugural event features performances by Next of Kin, Jess Williamson, Jamiee Harris, Judy Blank, Lemongrass, Katheryn Legendre, Matthew McNeal, Marcel, and Our Man In The Field (UK), along with surprise guest appearances. Special performances by Gracen Wynn, Remy Reilly, and Courtney Santana round out the lineup, celebrating the rich tradition and evolving sound of Texas Americana while introducing Nashville audiences to an exceptional roster of artists.
