Hey John,

Let’s talk about what happened on Tuesday night. Our Ready to Lead virtual rally pulled in 423 people who are ready to step up and organize their communities as we get ready for the midterms. I’m still fired up and smiling from ear to ear.

We were joined by Anderson Clayton, Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party. Anderson is a rising star in our party and represents a changing of the guard: she became the youngest state party chair in the country three years ago at age twenty-five. Her message of organizing as love in action was exactly what I needed to hear.

Organizing our neighbors to stop harmful MAGA agendas is how we care for our communities. As Anderson said in her mic-drop moment, “You cannot organize people that you do not love.”

Tuesday night gave us a roadmap of how to organize with love in our communities. Over four-hundred of you showed up and heard from leaders who are rebuilding the Democratic Party from the ground up. We reflected on how every vote counts now more than ever, and that elections are decided by the number of people you can personally reach by making connections with the people in your community.

If you were in the room (virtually), thank you. Your presence magnified Anderson’s powerful message and proved that we are all ready to meet this moment.
