Some schools are contracting — or considering contracting — with a drone company marketing that their pepper-spraying drones will distract school shooters until police arrive.
The $3 billion industry around preventing school shootings is growing, and it’s easy to understand why: families deserve to know that their kids are safe in school.
One thing we know works is keeping guns locked up , something responsible gun owners already do.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, 76% of school shooters under 18 got their firearm from the home of a parent or close relative. Right now, more than 6.7 million kids in America live in a home with an unsecured firearm. Pennsylvania has no law requiring that guns be locked up.
That could change.
Tell your state representative to sign on as a co-sponsor of HB 2244, the bill to require gun owners to store their firearms securely. [[link removed]]

HB 2244 has real momentum. It recently passed out of the House Judiciary Committee and is eligible for a vote on the House floor. This is the moment legislators need to hear from us — before the drone-and-bulletproof-backpack approach becomes the default.
