Dear Friend,
We’ve written to you about the crisis at the Postal Service before.
There’s a new twist. The Head of the USPS Board of Governors is in charge of Senator Mitch McConnell’s own super PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund! That explains a lot.
Last month President Trump admitted that if the Postal Service isn’t fully funded it may not be able to fulfill its role in the 2020 election -- which is fine with him. But even more than the election is at stake.
Millions of Americans, particularly seniors and veterans, get their prescription drugs or Social Security checks through the mail. Plus, the demand for vote by mail will increase substantially during November because of the coronavirus pandemic.
We have to stop President Trump and Mitch McConnell from gutting the Post Office. McConnell has held up emergency funding for the Postal Service for more than 100 days!
Across the country there are widespread mail delays, sorting machines have been dismantled, and carriers have been told to leave mail behind.
Please help us save the Post Office, before it’s too late.
Thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Richard Fiesta
