This is bad ? really bad

Friend — new polls have just been released following the Republican National Convention — they have Trump closing the gap within two points of Biden.

The RNC happened in the midst of two of the worst wildfires in California history and a double-hurricane event causing widespread damage in Louisiana and Texas. Speakers at the convention ignored climate change. Instead, they focused on racist fearmongering and demagoguery.

We need to turn this around. Not just to beat Trump, but to unseat all his racist, anti-environment enablers in Congress. We reached out last week because a group of donors had put up a grant to triple-match every contribution to our campaign to elect pro-environment candidates through the end of the month.

Given the troubling news, we've just gotten approval to extend that match one more day. These donations will go towards stopping Trump in swing states. They'll go towards winning the races that will decide control of the Senate. We just need you on board:

The best thing you can do right now to help swing this election is to make an emergency donation — even $5 will make a huge difference. The extended deadline is midnight tonight »

Read our message from Monday below — we have a real shot at winning here, but we all need to get in the fight.

Thanks, friend — for everything that you do.

Friend — we just received new polling data from our National Campaigns Director, and three Senate races have dropped within a few points — North Carolina, Iowa, and Maine.

Here's the decision: if we go big in North Carolina, Iowa, and Maine now, we really have a shot at swinging these races. But we didn't budget for this — as it stands now, if we wanted to pull this off, it'd mean diverting resources from another close race.

Honestly, we can't afford to lose any of these races. This would haunt us — what if we make the wrong call and give up on a race we could have otherwise won?

We have one shot, but we need your help before midnight. A group of donors agreed to triple-match every contribution — but tonight is the deadline. Frankly, now is the best time to make an impact on these races — we need to jump on it. Can I count on you?

Donate to LCV Victory Fund to help win an environmental majority in the Senate — even $5 is enough to make a difference. Every contribution will be triple matched until midnight »

In Maine, there are still a portion of voters splitting their tickets — they've moved away from Trump, but are still backing Susan Collins.

We think we can beat Senator Collins — and have a real shot at taking an environmental majority in the Senate — if we keep hammering on her voting record (she's backed Trump's agenda on virtually every major vote).

In North Carolina, Senator Tillis has embraced climate change denial even after his own state has been hit by devastating hurricanes in recent years. He's accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions from corporate polluters — but we have a shot at beating him.

In Iowa, Senator Joni Ernst has a dismal lifetime environmental score of 3% — and an environmental challenger, Theresa Greenfield, is now polling slightly ahead. The situation is tough — we have a real shot at taking Ernst down, but only if we move quickly.

Bottom line, we can't let this chance slip away now. If we do, we lose a shot at enacting policies that put people most impacted by pollution and climate change — communities of color, Indigenous communities, and low-wealth communities — at the center of solutions. We lose our shot at leaving a livable planet for future generations.

The absolute best thing you can do right now to help swing this election is make an emergency gift before tonight's triple match deadline ends. Even $5 can make a difference »

Thank you for everything you do — we've got a real shot at this one, but it's only going to come together with your help.
