Join us on September 30 as the Bipartisan Policy Center releases a new report which tracks all federal funding distributed to states in fiscal year 2019 to fight the opioid epidemic. This report builds on BPC's FY2018 and 2017 study.
Provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show an increase in overall drug overdose deaths in 2019. States and counties also report that overdose deaths from opioids are rising in 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic is exacerbating the problem, especially in communities of color.
BPC's event will include a panel of experts and members of Congress who will discuss how the federal government can better partner with states and localities to tackle America's opioid epidemic and the impact of COVID-19 on this urgent challenge.
