The double standard was too much even for him.
To keep his taxpayer-funded grocery stores stocked for locals, Zohran Mamdani’s economic development chief said the city would “target New Yorkers” with a “library card-esque thing” — an ID to shop.
The problem: Democrats spent years insisting an ID to vote is racist and impossible.
Caught in the contradiction, Mamdani is now walking it back.
“NYC Grocery stores will be open to everyone. There will be no system to verify identity, residency, or income, and no one will be asked to show ID to shop,” a city spokesperson said.

Sen. Rand Paul confirmed Tuesday that his committee will hold a vote on Thursday to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer questions at an explosive hearing last week.
“Fauci refused to answer a single question, even though he knew he couldn’t be charged for crimes during that period,” Paul said.
Fauci thought his preemptive pardon was his shield. But it’s quickly becoming a trap.
