SHOULD WE SEND THIS LETTER TO THE COURT?
John,
We asked you to add your name to a letter. Nobody should sign something they have not read, so here it is, in full. Five paragraphs.
Open Letter — Friend Of The Court
To the Supreme Court of the United States:
We the undersigned are American citizens and registered voters. We are not parties to this case. We write as friends of the court, because how it is decided will decide how our own ballots are handled.
We believe that only American citizens should cast ballots in American elections, and that confirming citizenship before a ballot is mailed is a reasonable step, not a radical one.
Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia went to court to stop that verification from happening. A district judge blocked it on June 25. A divided appeals panel agreed. The question now before this Court is whether it may take effect while the case is argued.
We respectfully ask the Court to allow it.
That is the whole thing. If you agree with it, add your name.

ADD MY NAME
Signatures close August 4, the day the states’ response is due at the Court.
This is a public open letter gathered by the Republican National Committee. It is not a court filing, and adding your name does not make you a party to the case or a signer of any brief.
