Live and Let Live FnJ cover

Dear John,

David Benham will never forget seeing his father be arrested.

He was 13 years old at the time. He and his twin brother, Jason, were attending their first prayer walk outside a Dallas abortion center. His dad, a local pastor, barely made it out of the car before officers demanded that he leave. He refused.

Even now, David remembers the officers’ gritted teeth and his father’s groans as the zip ties cut off his blood circulation. And above it all, the sound of angry screams from abortion activists, and the peaceful protestors singing “Amazing Grace.”

In that moment, David knew exactly the type of person he wanted to be: a man who would peacefully stand up for the most vulnerable.

More than 20 years later, the Benham brothers started their own pro-life ministry in North Carolina called Cities4Life. But David never imagined that following in his father’s pro-life footsteps would mean one day sharing a jail cell with him…

In this latest issue of Faith and Justice magazine, find out how...

  • North Carolina Christians are reinventing pro-life advocacy despite aggressive government opposition.
  • The temptation to withdraw from political activity is the very reason voting is so vital.
  • A university in Georgia discriminated against Martin Luther King’s pro-life niece.
  • Samaritan’s Purse helped fight the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City.
  • Parents in Wisconsin are standing up to a school district’s attempt to implement policies on transgender ideology with very little transparency or parental involvement.
