Companies advertise one price, then tack on extra “service fees,” “processing fees,” “convenience fees,” or other surprise charges right before checkout.

Whether you’re ordering delivery, buying something online, booking a service, or paying for tickets, those hidden costs add up fast.

The Trump administration gutted consumer protections, helping large businesses at the expense of working families. Here in Illinois, we’re cracking down on deceptive junk fees.

The price you see should be the price you pay.

I recently signed the Junk Fee Ban Act into law to protect consumers from deceptive pricing and hidden mandatory fees. That means more transparency, fewer surprise charges, and more money staying in the pockets of working families.
