Dear John,

We are ecstatic to announce the eight incredibly talented writers who have been selected for our Screenwriting Lab in partnership with Familiar Stranger!

Huge congratulations to Ali Albedawi, Malik Aziz, Reem Edan, Iman Hamid, Aleem Hossain, Nesa Huda, Mariyam Mahbub, and Ayser Salman! Both Familiar Stranger and our Hollywood Bureau are beyond impressed with the caliber of the scripts we received in our most competitive field of applicants to date.

The Lab will be held virtually on September 10, 2020, where the screenwriters will workshop their scripts, practice their pitches, and gain invaluable tools and insights from industry professionals to propel them forward in their writing careers.

We are so grateful for your support of our programs that elevate the voices of Muslim screenwriters! Join us for our virtual event on #101020 to learn how MPAC's Hollywood Bureau is building an inclusive America for all.

Every day we are improving stories about Muslims on-screen by consulting on projects from blockbuster films to Superbowl commercials, connecting the industry with Muslim talent, and providing thought leadership to industry leaders.

We need to continue this work to build a better normal.

In peace,

Sue Obeidi
Director, Hollywood Bureau
