*"The following is being shared on behalf of the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry."*
Dear Maine heritage sector workers,
If you work in Maine agriculture, fishing, or forestry, you know the challenges of this work better than anyone else. Long hours, physical demands, unpredictable weather, financial pressures, and the expectation to simply "push through" can take a toll.
The *Working Group to Prioritize Wellness and Mental Health Resources for Heritage Industries* was created by the Maine Legislature with one purpose: to listen to the people who do this work every day and make recommendations based on what they need, not what others assume they need.
That's why your participation in this survey matters.
The more people who participate, the more accurately the survey will reflect the mental health and wellness realities facing Maine's heritage industries.
The survey:
* Takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
* Is anonymous. You are not required to provide your name or contact information.
* Is open to current and former workers as well as family members completing it on behalf of someone else.
* Is available through August 31, 2026.
The survey asks about topics such as access to health care, workplace injuries, and barriers to getting care. The information collected will help the working group identify gaps in services and develop recommendations for the Maine legislature due December 1, 2026. Please take ten minutes to complete the survey and consider sharing it with others in your communities. The more voices represented, the stronger and more useful the recommendations will be.
