Email from Rian Immigrant Center   Dear Friend,  The State Department lists Haiti at Level 4, Do Not Travel. The advisory, reissued July 10, tells Americans to prepare a will before going and to set up a proof of life protocol with their families. It says family members are not permitted to join U.S. government employees who work there, because of the safety risks.  On July 27, Temporary Protected Status for Haiti ended. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians lost their status and their work authorization. Many Haitian parents here have children who were born in the United States. Those children are citizens, so that advisory is written for them. A parent facing removal can bring an American child to a country our government says Americans must not enter. Or leave that child behind. No parent should have to weigh those two things against each other.  The dangers in that advisory do not check anyone's passport. If Haiti is too dangerous for an American child, it is too dangerous for a Haitian child. On July 29, our legal team sat down with 42 of our Haitian neighbors to provide trustworthy advice, screen for other legal options, and offer representation to clients with a path forward.
