There are just two weeks until Election Day. (We can hardly believe it either!)

We’re pushing to raise $2,222 in two days. We need to make sure we finish this thing strong!

The Delaware Democratic Primary is the last race in this election cycle. Our team knows that this race represents hope – there is still time to elect a progressive representative who will fight for the working class. There is still time to fight for a Homes Guarantee, universal health care and College for All.

There is still time to build a better future. We have the people of Delaware on our side. 

This week, our volunteers are calling Delaware voters to help them make a plan to vote. We always ask the people we call, What is going on in your life? What matters to you? 

Voters are rightfully growing more and more nervous about America’s housing crisis. By the end of this month, about 20 million renters are at risk of being evicted, according to the Covid-19 Eviction Defense Project.

We can’t let that happen. We need to radically reimagine how we’re responding to COVID. We must address the housing crisis. Without wages, people can’t pay rent. 

We need a movement candidate in office, someone who understands our current evictions crisis and is ready to provide renters relief and invest in public housing.

That’s what we’re telling voters on the phones these next two weeks. There is one candidate in the race advocating that every person in this country have a home.

We’ll be frank: Talking with voters during COVID is difficult. To connect with people safely, we need to do a lot of our work remotely. Calling voters costs more money than sending volunteers to every door in Delaware.

The calls we make aren’t just about the election. Our conversations are about hope.

We use our phonebanking time to check in with our community and adapt this campaign to people’s needs. These conversations are the first ways that our movement gets to serve people — on the phones, person-to-person, and struggle-to-struggle. 

Every call we make costs us 5 1/2 cents. With your $22, we can call 400 voters before the election on Sept. 15. Will you help us reach our goal?
