Friends,

In light of the primary election today, I will keep this brief. I am optimistically crossing my fingers that Massachusetts will re-elect climate leaders and gain new climate-conscious representation tonight.

Polls and drop boxes close at 8pm, but if you're in line by 8pm stay in line! Please check out the many ways you can take action for climate and justice below.

In solidarity,

Tell Liberty Mutual to choose people over profits

Within two weeks of the historically catastrophic Tubbs fire in California, Liberty Mutual sent notices to residents in the surrounding communities informing them that their home insurance was being withdrawn due to the high-risk of wildfires. This has left communities affected by wildfires even more insecure. What's worse is that as one of the largest insurers of fossil fuel facilities, Liberty Mutual has directly contributed to the environmental conditions that foster disastrous wild fires like Tubbs. Our allies at the Rainforest Action Network have created an easy-to-use form for activists to call Liberty Mutual and demand they insure our future.

More Solidarity Opportunities

Support Stop & Shop Workers: Hazard pay for Stop & Shop employees ended on July 4, but the pandemic rages on, with essential workers putting themselves at risk to keep us fed. Support the reinstatement of hazard pay by signing this petition.

Support Whole Foods Employees Punished for Wearing BLM Masks: Back in July, employees at a Whole Foods in Cambridge were sent home for wearing face masks that said Black Lives Matter. Learn more about it and consider donating to employees to offset lost wages.

Change the Flag and Seal, Ban Native Mascots, and Protect Native Heritage: It's long past time for Massachusetts to reckon with its racist and damaging history with Native Americans. Send a message to your legislators asking them to support the bills to change the state flag, seal, and motto, and to ban Native American sports mascots in our public schools. Take action here.

Call Your Legislators for Housing Stability: The MA legislative session has been extended, and there are key housing justice bills that haven't yet received a vote. Use this automatic calling tool to call your legislators and help prevent tens of thousands of evictions.
