Email from Conrad Cable For Congress Please read what I have to say about this >> John, They said defeating Speaker Mike Johnson is going to take a helluva lot of hard work. Well, here’s the good news: I'm no stranger to hard work — I've got the dirt on my overalls to prove it. My name is Conrad Cable, and I'm the Democrat running against Mike Johnson. I'm a farmer. My overalls have dirt on them because I put it there, working my own land. My hands are rough. And I've never once been scared of hard work — I was raised to believe that if you want something to grow, you show up and you put the work in, every single day, rain or shine, no excuses. Mike Johnson has never worked a day like that in his life. He's spent his career in courtrooms and committee rooms, cutting deals for people who've never set foot on a farm in this district, let alone broken a sweat on one. And now, as Speaker of the House, he's used that power to gut Medicaid and turn a blind eye while a private company tortures our neighbors at Winn Correction Center. I'm a 6th-generation Louisianian. This is my home. And I grew up believing that the people who work the hardest and ask for the least are exactly the people who deserve to be fought for. That's not a talking point to me — that's just how I was raised. Mike Johnson wouldn't know honest, hard work if it walked up and shook his hand. I'm running because this district — our farms, our families, our neighbors — deserves a fighter who isn't afraid to get dirty for them. Not someone who answers to Washington donors and corporate PACs. Someone who answers to you. I know Mike Johnson and the powerful interests behind him are going to spend whatever it takes to keep this seat. They always do. But there are things money can't buy: the sweat you put into your own land, the loyalty you have to your neighbors, and the truth about who's actually willing to work for you. Will you chip in $25, $10, or whatever you can to help me take on Mike Johnson and start building the kind of campaign this district has never seen?
