Chair's Corner

Tomorrow is Primary Day! Voters across Virginia will choose their congressional nominees, and here in Fairfax we'll be turning out Democrats in the 8th Congressional District primary.

Then we pivot to November. Together we’ll work to pass Virginia's three Freedom Amendments, protecting marriage equality, reproductive freedom, and voting rights. And we’ll help elect Democrats up and down the ballot across the Commonwealth.

Beyond Fairfax is your guide to making a difference statewide. Read below for everything you need to know about tomorrow's election, then watch for your next Look Ahead with even more ways to get involved.

Onward — always together.

Tuesday, August 4th - Democratic Primary in the 8th Congressional District

If you haven’t voted yet, find out about the primary candidates here: fairfaxdemocrats.org/cd08/ and visit fairfaxvotes.org to confirm your correct polling location. Early voting sites will NOT be open on election day; you can only vote at your designated polling location.

It's time to mail or drop off your by-mail balloting materials. The completed and signed return envelope, with the ballot enclosed, must be mailed by August 4th and received by 12 PM on Friday, August 7th. Be sure to include your birth year and last four digits of your Social Security number. Watch Sean of the Fairfax County Office of Elections explain the requirements for returning your ballot by mail or dropbox.

Be sure to check/update your voter registration at elections.virginia.gov/citizen-portal/. Same Day Registration is available during early voting and on Election Day; however, voters will vote a provisional ballot.

FCDC does not endorse during primary campaigns. But we do “endorse” voting! Please cast your ballot and use your social media, email, texts to remind your friends and neighbors to vote. Polls are open 6 AM to 7 PM.
