It's the hottest stretch of the year ‒ and we intend to keep it that way for the establishment.
Everyone in the freedom movement has an iron in the fire. Some fight bad laws in the courts. Some expose corruption, organize communities, or build independent media. Ours is the ballot box: we put freedom-minded patriots on ballots ‒ everyday Canadians, not tired career politicians ‒ and make sure the people running this country into the ground never get a free ride at election time.
This month, that job got real: three by-elections called, three PPC candidates on the ground, and a five-city Alberta tour that kicks off tomorrow night.
Here's your July news ‒ and the fights we're taking into August. Stay hydrated. We're just getting warmed up.
🍁 Ontario Is Sorted ‒ and the Machine Is
Running
First, a promise kept. Last month we invited Ontario members to their AGM ‒ and you showed up. On July 6, members elected the new provincial board that will recruit candidates, organize members, and fundraise across the province.
Quebec. Atlantic Canada. Alberta. Now Ontario. Piece by piece, the machinery is going up, and we're not done. More provinces are on the workbench right now.
We didn't have long to admire the work. Barely three weeks later, the writs dropped for three by-elections, and the machine proved what it's for:
In BC, one email went out, and volunteers were organizing the ground game within days. In Quebec, a local team formed around our candidate almost overnight. In Ontario, the association's call for volunteers went out, and members answered. In Alberta, the association is mobilizing for every stop of Max's tour.
Not consultants. Not corporate donors. Members, finding each other, getting to work.
The machine didn't get a warm-up lap. It got a race.
🗳️ Three By-Elections. Three Candidates. We're In the Game.
On July 26, by-elections were called in Beaches–East York (Ontario), Chicoutimi–Le Fjord (Quebec), and North Vancouver–Capilano (BC). E-Day is Monday, August 31.
People love to tell us we're not out there. The truth: we are contesting all three. Three ordinary Canadians put their hands up, and your party put them on the ballot.
And it matters more than ever. Under Bill C-25, now law, parties that don't run candidates start losing access to the basic tools of campaigning ‒ like voters’ lists ‒ in future elections. Sitting out an election now costs you the next one. The establishment wrote those rules. We're answering the only way that counts: every riding, every election.
So who put their hands up? Let us introduce you:
Michel Lachance ‒ Beaches–East York
(Ontario)
Michel was born in the Beaches and has spent his whole life in Toronto's east end, the last decade running his own IT and electronics business. He's also a founding member of the People's Party.
After watching the financial industry profit from ordinary families' confusion ‒ his own family included ‒ Michel didn't just get angry. He got licensed in securities and insurance so he could show everyday people how the game actually works. See the problem, learn the system, fight back: that's the instinct we want in Ottawa.

François Sabourin ‒ Chicoutimi–Le Fjord
(Quebec)
Born and raised in Saguenay, François built his commercial cleaning company from nothing in 2010 ‒ no inheritance, no connections, just work. He's already on the ground with a volunteer team, collecting signatures and drawing local press.
And he's doing something that takes real courage in dairy country: telling the truth about supply management. The Liberals, the Conservatives, and the Bloc all defend this well-funded, well-subsidized cartel that inflates the price of milk, eggs, and poultry for every Canadian family. François is the only candidate in this race whose party is committed to dismantling it. Max gave up a ministerial career fighting that lobby. François is proud to carry the same fight home.

Ehsan Arjmand ‒ North Vancouver–Capilano
(BC)
This isn't Ehsan's first time carrying our banner ‒ he stood for us in this riding in 2025, and when the by-election was called, he put his hand up again, in a part of the country where very few will.
Ehsan has seen first-hand, in the part of the world his family came from, what happens when the state decides which thoughts are acceptable. He's running because he refuses to watch it happen here ‒ the censorship laws, the frozen bank accounts, the police visits over social media posts.
We've always been clear about what makes someone a patriot: the values you hold, and what you're willing to build for this country. Some sneer at Ehsan over his heritage. Note the difference: while they tear down a patriot, he's out defending the freedoms they claim to love.

🎤 Max Hits Alberta ‒ Starting Tonight!
Last month we told you the Alberta tour was coming and that you'd be the first to know. Here it is: Max joins PPC candidate Jason Lavigne, the Holmes family ‒ Mike, Maycee, and Madison ‒ and our Alberta team for “Lessons from Quebec: What Alberta Can Learn from Two Referendums.” After a short introduction, the evening belongs to your questions ‒ written from the floor and put directly to Max and the panel.
🗳️ Where we stand on October 19
On October 19, Albertans will be asked whether the province should remain in Canada, or commence the legal process toward a future binding referendum on separation. The People's Party is urging Albertans to vote “Commence” ‒ and we want to be clear about why.
This is not a vote to leave Canada. It is a vote to begin negotiations. A binding referendum on separation would only ever happen if Ottawa refuses to offer Alberta a fair deal. A “Commence” vote is leverage ‒ the first real leverage Alberta has ever held ‒ and it's the only language the establishment in Ottawa understands. A “Remain” vote is a vote for the status quo: nothing changes, and the begging continues.
What does a fair deal look like? It's our policy of radical decentralization ‒ ending imperial federalism and restoring provincial autonomy: Ottawa out of provincial jurisdiction, tax points instead of strings-attached transfers, a fixed equalization formula, and constitutional respect for the division of powers.
Max has seen this work before ‒ from the other side. As a young Quebecer, he voted Yes in 1995 ‒ not to destroy Canada, but because leverage won Quebec a respect Ottawa never volunteers. He's saying the same thing in Alberta today that he's said his entire career.

⚖️ One of Our Own Takes the Heat to a
Courtroom
You may remember Jim McMurtry ‒ our candidate in Cloverdale—Langley City, and a veteran teacher with decades in Canadian classrooms.
In May 2021, after his school announced that graves had been reported at the Kamloops residential school, Jim gave his students context. He was pulled from class the same day, suspended the next morning ‒ and in February 2023, fired. His union refused to take his grievance to arbitration. The Labour Relations Board sided with the union. For most people, that would be the end of the road.
Jim isn't most people.
This July, lawyers funded by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms filed a petition on Jim's behalf in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, arguing that when a union decides whether to defend one of its members, it must weigh the Charter rights at stake ‒ including freedom of expression.
In Jim's words: “In this David and Goliath fight against powerful institutions, I needed legal support ‒ and I am deeply grateful to the Justice Centre for coming to the aid of a teacher buffeted by winds of intolerance.”
A victory wouldn't just vindicate Jim ‒ it could strengthen protections for every unionized worker in Canada who dares to say something unfashionable.

Look at this summer as one picture: Jason putting Max in front of five Alberta crowds. Albertans organizing for the most consequential provincial vote in a generation. The Justice Centre carrying a PPC candidate's Charter fight into court. Three everyday Canadians putting their names on ballots.
Nobody's fighting the same way ‒ and that's the point. Courtrooms, stages, referendum campaigns: every iron matters. Ours is the ballot box ‒ because protests end and news cycles move on, but at the ballot box, they have to answer.
Which brings us to the only question that matters: what's your iron?
