Hi John,

You’ve heard us say that this is the most consequential election in generations. So what can you and I personally do about it? On Election Day, are you going to be glued to Twitter or TV news? Have you already texted everyone you know three times over to get them to register to vote? Well, we have one more idea for how you can spend the day.

March For Our Lives is proud to partner with Power the Polls, a new program to recruit poll workers to ensure a safe, fair election for all voters. It’s up to us to make sure that everyone’s voices are heard during this election.

With COVID-19 still raging, there has been a staggering decrease in the number of people who are able to work the polls -- which could mean closing polling places or long delays during the November election, putting marginalized communities even more at risk.

You can help make sure we have a safe, fair, efficient election for all voters -- and get paid to do it!

Sign up to become a poll worker graphic

The process to become a poll worker is different depending on where you live. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be contacted either by your local election officials or by Power the Polls. If this sounds like a big commitment, well… it can be! Some poll workers work the entire day of the election, some in shifts. National elections can sound like this big, abstract concept. But on the day itself, it’s your community that’s making it happen. Making sure your friends and neighbors have a fair election is one of the most meaningful things you can do to help our democracy. Also -- it’s fun!

The future of our country is up to us.
