On July 19, a committee of 21 foreign governments gavels into session in Busan, South Korea – and somewhere in the days that follow, they’ll decide whether a 400,000-acre stretch of Georgia answers to them.


Not to Georgia. Not to America.


To them – the United Nations.


And don’t kid yourself that it stops at one swamp. Hand the UN 400,000 acres of Georgia and you’ve handed them the precedent – the next piece of America comes easier, and the one after that easier still.


I’m Craig Rucker, President of CFACT – the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow – and I want to give you a frank update on what the United Nations is actually up to right now.


Last weekend, you and I were lighting fireworks for America’s 250th birthday – a quarter of a millennium since a handful of farmers and shopkeepers told the most powerful empire on earth to take its crown and its tax collectors and pound sand.

And now, before the smoke clears, the UN’s culture bureaucrats want to plant their flag in the Okefenokee Swamp.


They don’t call it a flag, of course. They call it a “World Heritage Site” – a designation of “outstanding universal value.” (Translation: it’s not really yours anymore.)


The UN swears it would “only monitor” this swath of American land. (Right – the way a fox “only monitors” the henhouse.) Ask the folks in Charlton, Ware, and Clinch counties in Georgia what “monitor” means.


They’re the ones who’d wake up to find their hunting land, their timber, their own backyards redrawn as a “buffer zone” to “protect” a swamp that’s been doing just fine on its own since before there was a United Nations to mismanage it.


No hunting. No logging. No pulling weeds. No say. That’s the “universal value” on offer.

So how did we get here? A midnight gift in January 2025.


The Okefenokee sat on a UN “tentative list” for some 40 years, going nowhere – until the Biden administration, just before clearing out its desks, rammed through the nomination without so much as a phone call to the people who actually live there.

A parting gift to the UN – from the same crew that spent four years handing out pieces of American sovereignty to anyone who asked.


And the outfit advising the UN on whether to bless it?


The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) – the global green bureaucracy whose own network brags about cramming climate “education” into the Paris accord that Trump already tore up.


This was never about alligators and peat moss. It’s about handing a chunk of America to the climate agenda’s permanent government – the one nobody elected and nobody can fire.


President Trump already walked America out of UNESCO – one of 66 international outfits he’s shown the door to, including the UN’s climate convention itself. Good.


But walking out of UNESCO alone doesn’t stop this.

The nomination rides a separate track, and the United States is still bound to the “World Heritage Convention.”


Which means unless Secretary Burgum formally rescinds it, those 21 foreign governments get the final word on American soil – whether we’re members of their little club or not.


One signature stands between the UN and the Okefenokee – Secretary Burgum’s, on an order pulling this nomination off the table. That’s the whole fight, in a single stroke of a pen.


This is exactly the fight CFACT was built for.


Our team went to Folkston, Georgia – cameras rolling – and sat down with the county commissioners the UN never bothered to consult, and put their warnings on the record while the national press looked the other way.

We’re also one of the only conservative outfits holding official NGO observer status at the United Nations – which means when they convene, we have the standing to be in the room and fight them to their faces.


That’s the difference between a think tank and a DO tank. And because we don’t take one dime of taxpayer money, there isn’t a globalist on this earth who can buy us off or shut us up.

The good news? This fight is winnable, and the momentum is ours.


Three counties have already passed ordinances against it. When the UN’s own advisors held their little meeting down in Folkston, it did not go the way they planned.


America has walked away from UNESCO before – under Reagan, and again under Trump. The pattern is hard to miss: when Americans actually show up, the globalists lose.


So let’s show up.
