Friends,

Don’t forget the 350 Fairfax virtual general meeting on Thursday, September 3, at 7:30 pm! This is what’s on the agenda:

  • Learn: Our guest speakers will be Miriam Gennari (aka the Styrofoam Mom) and youth activist Krithika Layagala. Miriam is the executive producer of the documentary Styrofoam Mom and host of the weekly YouTube program SustainableScoop. She is also a mentor for Eco Teen Action Network’s Plastics Hub. Krithika is a rising senior at Thomas Jefferson High School, president of her school’s Environmental Impact Club, and youth ambassador for Eco Teen Action Network’s Plastics Hub. They will inspire us with their ongoing plastic waste projects and offer creative ways to reduce our single-use plastic consumption.
  • Discuss: We’ll talk about how the pandemic will shape our the October 2020 Plastic Free Challenge and share exciting details for our virtual Plastic Free Forum on Saturday, September 26.
  • Act: So many ways to act (virtually) this month! First and foremost, participate in Fairfax County’s Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan public survey. We’ll also share a handful of important ways you can act to reduce plastic pollution, both in your home and in our community, during the pandemic.

RSVP is required to receive the Zoom link for the September 3 general meeting. RSVP here.
