Today, Trump is travelling to Kenosha to show his full support for the police and condemn the protests rising in Jacob Black’s name. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Women's March

Trump is in Kenosha, Wisconsin right now, John.

But instead of comforting Jacob Blake and his family and condemning the police who shot an innocent Black man while letting a white 17-year-old killer go free – he thanked law enforcement on a “job well done.”

Donald J. Trump Verified @realDonaldTrump
@ryangrim

Heading to Kenosha, Wisconsin to thank Law Enforcement and the National Guard for a job well done. The Violence stopped six days ago, the moment the Guard entered the picture. Thank you!

Trump will never condemn their actions or hold these officers accountable, so it’s up to all of us. We’ve been working to flood the Kenosha Police Department and local officials with hundreds of phone calls demanding justice. Thank you to everyone who has already made a call.

We heard from you that the Mayor’s phone line did not pick up and the City Attorney’s mailbox was full, so now we’re going to our next best option. We’re launching a petition calling for the resignation and removal of Kenosha Sheriff David Beth and Police Chief Daniel Miskinis.

Will you sign our petition demanding the removal of Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth and Police Chief Daniel Miskinis?

Sheriff Beth and Chief Miskinis must be held responsible for the attempted murder of Jacob Blake and the murders of peaceful protestors. Both Beth and Miskins allowed police to fraternize with white supremacist counter-protestors and let the shooter – 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse – leave the scene, even as other protestors desperately yelled that he was responsible for the shootings.1

I grew up on the northside of Milwaukee (about 45 minutes from Kenosha), and when I first heard that Jacob Blake was shot in the back 7 times in front of his three sons and fiancé — I was saddened and infuriated, but not surprised.

Many people don’t know that Milwaukee County is the most segregated metro area in the country.2 Across Wisconsin, Black people are incarcerated at a rate 10 times higher than white people. Police officers – mostly white – are known to come into Black neighborhoods as an occupying force. Across the state, cities with more Black residents allocated larger shares of their 2020 general budgets to policing.3

Trump is trying to bury this history and change the narrative today to PRAISE police officers in Wisconsin. We must rise up together to make sure the police are held accountable and to end this horrid cycle of police brutality.

Please sign our petition now to demand the removal of Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth and Police Chief Daniel Miskinis. Your signature sends a powerful message that we will never stop fighting for justice.

Trump will never use his platform to try to unite us, because he believes division is what will keep him in the Oval Office.

Trump wants voters in key swing states like Wisconsin to see him as a “law and order” president who will restore business-as-usual – where racist police officers can patrol our communities and take innocent lives without consequence.

It’s key that we rise up to demand accountability and also call out Trump’s incitement of violence. We’re talking to voters in Wisconsin one-on-one each week and we will continue to make sure they know the truth about Trump and his racism.

We must finish what we started and vote him out in November. We owe it to Jacob Blake and to the entire country.
