John,
When an organization asks you for money to "protect democracy," you have every right to ask what that actually buys.
So here is exactly what your donation to Operation: Vote Safe pays for.
-
Organizers. A lead organizer in each of six battleground states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas. These are the people who build everything else: recruiting the volunteers, assembling leadership teams of veterans and faith leaders who are trusted in their own communities, and having a plan in place before Election Day instead of scrambling after it.
-
Grants to the people already there. We are not parachuting into these communities and telling them how to protect themselves. There are local organizations that have been doing this work in these precincts for years, who know every polling place and every neighborhood. Your money funds them directly, so the people best positioned to help are the ones with resources in hand.
-
An ad campaign. Fear only works if people don't know their rights. We're running paid media in these communities well before November, so that every voter hears — repeatedly, from voices they trust — that they can vote, and they can do it safely. The single cheapest way to defeat intimidation is to inoculate people against it in advance.
We’re paying for organizers, local groups, and the message that reaches voters before the intimidation does.
All three start the moment we're funded. Will you chip in $25 now to fund organizers, local groups, and the ads that keep voters safe?
