As fire’s sweep across our state the quality of the air continues to worsen, jeopardizing the health of millions during a global pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has been directly correlated to respiratory health and poses an even higher risk to those with pre-existing conditions. Yet, Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell continues to prioritize big oil funding over the health of his constituents. Assemblymember O’Donnell not only supported rollbacks and suspensions of important air quality and climate regulations but even led legislative sign-on letters to encourage other legislators to join him in supporting reckless environmental rollbacks. His voting record does not represent the urgent need to move quicker to provide clean and healthy air to residents and to address the climate crisis. California cannot afford more inaction on the climate crisis, our lives, livelihoods and communities are at stake.
