Working alongside his dedicated constituent services team, he has helped thousands of Long Islanders resolve issues with federal agencies, recover benefits they were owed, and access the services they deserve. To date, Andrew has helped return more than $36.3 million to constituents, successfully resolved over 9,835 constituent cases, and responded to more than 124,506 constituent inquiries. "Helping constituents is the most important part of my job, and my team and I are committed to delivering real results. Whether it's helping a veteran receive earned benefits, assisting a senior with Social Security, or resolving an issue with a federal agency, we're here to help the people we serve," Andrew said. Learn More About Constituent Services ANDREW IN THE NEWS How the Big Beautiful Bill became law A small group of Republicans from high-tax states held the fate of the biggest tax legislation in nearly a decade in the palm of their hands. With a wire-thin majority in the House, the group of five knew that leadership needed all of their votes. If they banded together, they could use the entirety of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act as leverage to get President Donald Trump and Republicans to agree to raise the $10,000 cap on deductions for state and local taxes, or SALT — the biggest tax priority for the group of Republicans, which included Reps. Mike Lawler (NY), Nick LaLota (NY), Andrew Garbarino (NY), Young Kim (CA), and Tom Kean (NJ). Garbarino said getting the cap to $40,000 was a big deal for his district, even with the five-year sunset. “I think we’re very happy with what we got, rather than $30,000 forever, because the $40,000 really covers a lot of people, especially my district and other districts,” Garbarino said. As Long Island continues to grow, investments in modern healthcare facilities help ensure residents have access to the care they need close to home. Andrew looks forward to seeing the positive impact this new facility will have on the community for years to come. Honoring the United States Coast Guard's 236th Birthday This upcoming week, our nation will celebrate the 236th Birthday of the United States Coast Guard. Here on Long Island, we know firsthand the vital role the Coast Guard plays in protecting our waterways. Andrew's team recently had the opportunity to visit Coast Guard Station Fire Island and meet with some of the dedicated men and women who carry out their mission every day. As we celebrate this milestone, Andrew thanks every Coast Guardsman serving on Long Island and across our country for their service and sacrifice. Casework Highlight: Honoring a Long Island Veteran's Service When the family of a Long Island veteran needed assistance obtaining the proper United States flag for their loved one's military funeral, they turned to Andrew's office for help. Andrew's team worked quickly with the appropriate federal agency to ensure the family received the flag in time to honor the veteran's service with the dignity and respect they deserved. Andrew's team was also honored to attend the veteran's funeral and pay their respects alongside family and friends. Long Island is home to a proud community of veterans who have answered our nation's call to serve. Ensuring those who wore the uniform receive the recognition they have earned is one small way we can give back.
