Donald Trump just eliminated a critical program that helped Medicare beneficiaries cover the cost of their prescriptions. For New Jersey seniors living on fixed incomes, that may mean skipping doses, delaying treatment, or going without life-saving medication altogether.

As a physician, I have seen what happens when patients cannot afford their prescriptions. No one should have to choose between filling a prescription, buying groceries, or keeping the lights on.

I am fighting in Congress to lower prescription drug prices, protect Medicare and Medicaid, and make health care more affordable. But we cannot keep playing defense while Trump’s allies control the House and rubber-stamp every attack on our health care.

We need to take back the House so we can stop these cuts, hold the Trump Administration accountable, and put patients ahead of politics.
