If your inbox is anything like mine, you sometimes get emails screaming that your donation would be DOUBLED, TRIPLED, or, better yet, matched five or seven times over — but only if you give before some midnight deadline.

That match is almost always fiction. There's usually no second donor on the other side whose money vanishes if you don't act. Both parties do it, and it often works. It works because it makes you feel like your gift matters more than it does.

I'm not going to insult you with that kind of thing.

I don't need a fake multiplier, because I've got a real one, and it's got nothing to do with a gimmick. It's just geography.

A television ad in New York or Texas costs a fortune — tens of thousands of dollars for a single prime-time spot. The very same ad in South Dakota costs a tiny fraction of that. It's one of the cheapest media markets in the entire country. So a dollar you give me doesn't get "matched" by some phantom donor — it goes further on its own, because of where this race is being fought.

That’s a fact you could look up. And it's the real reason a retired JAG living in a camper (Only a few more days!) running as an Independent can afford to go on the air against a man with millions.

So please, consider chipping in $25 to my campaign today and make your gift go further than it could anywhere else in the country.

I'd rather tell you the plain truth and raise fewer dollars than dress up a lie and raise more. But that’s just me, and it’s how I’ve decided this campaign will be run.
