Hi friend,
I want to send you a simple thank you. Because of grassroots supporters like you, we closed out this month stronger than when we started it, and that matters more than ever as we head into the general election season in earnest.
I also want to share some good news from back home. A couple days ago, I announced two federal grants totaling more than $2.3 million for Chestnut Health Systems, funding critical research into substance use and addiction treatment.
This money will help researchers better understand addiction, improve treatment, and ultimately save lives across Central and Northwestern Illinois. Substance use disorder has touched too many families in our district, and I'm proud that this kind of investment is making it back home, where it's needed most.
This is the part of the job I love. Not the fundraising, not the political fights, but the work of actually delivering for the people I represent. It's the same instinct that kept me showing up for our community for twenty years as a meteorologist: being there before the storm and after it, and doing right by my neighbors in between.
With the general election fast approaching, I know the road ahead only gets busier. But today, I just wanted to say thank you, and let you know that support like yours is what makes days like this possible.
Thank you,
- Eric
