John,

America is in the midst of a nationwide poll worker shortage.

Most people who have signed up to work the polls in past elections have
been over the age of 60. And because they’re in a high-risk category, many
folks over 60 are choosing to stay home this year.

Already in multiple primaries across the country, Republicans have used
poll worker shortages as an excuse to close polling locations. That’s
caused long lines and potential disenfranchisement for thousands of
voters.

[ [link removed] ]Power the Polls is recruiting lower-risk people to work the polls this
fall and help make sure everyone has the opportunity to cast their ballot
in this election. Sign up here if you can, but if you can’t, please

Poll workers are absolutely critical to keeping polling locations open on
Election Day, ensuring the election technology functions properly, and
helping voters navigate any issues they have while voting.

We know Republicans at all levels of government will do everything in
their power to prevent people from voting this year. That’s why we must do
everything we can to make sure voting remains accessible for everyone.

Poll workers are on the front lines of this fight to help make sure
everyone is able to cast their ballot.

will get in touch to get you started. If you can’t work the polls, please
forward this email to someone who can.

Thank you for all you are doing this year to protect our democracy and
fight for our progressive values.
