Dear John,

Work is a core value in our society.

So many of our families came to this country to seek better opportunities and the right to earn a living wage. On Labor Day, we celebrate the social and economic achievements of American workers and the labor movement, which is responsible for many of the fundamentals we take for granted in our working lives.

Among those achievements are
*        The end of child labor
*        A guaranteed minimum wage
*        The 8 hour work day and paid overtime
*        Health insurance, paid sick leave, workers' comp benefits, vacations, and holidays - now standard benefits for most workers
*        Improvements in workplace safety and reduction of on the job fatalities

Join me in celebrating the rich history of American labor and standing with working families.

Sincerely,

Brian Frosh
