Folks,
Tommy Tuberville has said a lot of dumb stuff on TV, on podcasts, in speeches, and even on the Senate floor, but this might take the cake. He just went on Fox News and claimed that Dr. Anthony Fauci was responsible for killing 9 million people.
Tuberville: “We’re gonna go after him with everything we’ve got, cause the guy killed, or had something to do with killing 9 million people.”
Fox News host: “Yeah, we can’t prove that, right?”

I can’t believe I have to say this, but Anthony Fauci did not kill 9 million people. The sad fact is that COVID has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 1.2 million people in the United States between 2020 and today—not 9 million. COVID was a horrific tragedy for our country—especially for Alabama—but that is not an excuse for Tommy Tuberville to make up crap and spread deranged conspiracy theories to the public.
This is not about Anthony Fauci. You may love him or hate him. But the hard truth is that we cannot have a governor who’s willing to simply make things up about issues Alabamians live and die by.
The stakes are just too damn high. Alabamians have real problems. We have one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the entire country. Our rural hospitals are closing. We don’t have nearly enough doctors or nurses. Our entire healthcare system is dealing with massive cuts sent down from the federal government.
God forbid our state ever faces another pandemic with Tommy Tuberville as our governor. Would he do what would actually need to be done to protect Alabama citizens? Or would he go on TV, promote the latest conspiracy theory, and make up whatever numbers fit his latest grievance?
Alabama deserves better. I’m running the most competitive campaign for Alabama governor our state has seen in 20 years. But to actually win, I need your help.
