At only 21 years old, Elisha has proven herself to be a dedicated leader in the gun violence prevention movement. After the Florida State University shooting, she took action by mobilizing hundreds of students at vigils and rallies. When extremist lawmakers pushed bills to allow professors to carry guns on campus, Elisha was in the room testifying against them. Inspired by Everytown's Gun Law Rankings analysis, this longitudinal database allows users to draw more causal conclusions about policy impacts. Ideally, this in turn will allow policymakers, researchers, community groups, and other key stakeholders to prioritize policy solutions shown to stop gun violence. This action comes after a Kentucky jury awarded over $100 million in damages to the mother of an underage teen who died by gun suicide after Husky Armory sold him a ghost-gun kit over the Internet without verifying his identity or conducting a background check. This verdict is believed to be the largest in US history against a gun seller. Read more about this landmark case.  |
