I'm fighting to protect Arizona's water interests

Today, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation released its long-awaited Post-2026 Operational Guidelines for Lake Powell and Lake Mead – Final Environmental Impact Statement. The framework reduces Arizona’s share of the Colorado River usage through 2036 – though not by as much as the Draft Statement proposed earlier this spring. While I am grateful for the cooperation of California and Nevada and the federal government's willingness to listen to the concerns of the Lower Basin States, I am extremely disappointed that the Upper Basin States have continuously refused to come to the table to help bring relief to the entire basin. We cannot afford to take on more cuts, yet here we are with another framework that puts Arizona last. 

Over the past two years, I worked with the federal government on a solution that could be less harmful to Arizona than the options presented by the Upper Basin States. I understood, however, that Arizona could not rely solely on this new framework for its water future security, so I have worked in Congress on other solutions to help our state enhance existing infrastructure and bring relief to stakeholders most affected by existing drought conditions and ongoing cuts. I will continue to take action to bring relief to our state and ensure that we can protect our citizens, agriculture industries, and everyone else relying on this life-giving resource.

I am fighting to protect Arizona’s cattle

This week, I was pleased to welcome U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins to Arizona to learn more about a multi-million-dollar sterile fly dispersal facility that will be built in our state to combat the New World screwworm, a parasitic fly that feeds on the flesh of warm-blooded livestock, killing them if left untreated. 

Thanks to the Trump Administration’s decisive action, New World screwworm cases have fallen significantly over the past year. The USDA can now move forward with a phased reopening of southern cattle ports, including one in Douglas next month. It remains a strategically valuable location for future production capacity and containment actions. I appreciated the opportunity to see this port of entry up close and the measures that have been put in place to ensure a smooth resumption to livestock trade.

As you can see, Arizona is leading the way in prevention efforts, and I am grateful that the federal government answered my call for assistance. I know how hard our state’s ranchers and farmers work for America’s economy and supply chain. That’s why I’m doing all I can to protect their cattle.

Dr. Fauci lied to the American people about COVID-19. I was one of the first lawmakers to call him out. 

This week, Dr. Anthony Fauci appeared before the U.S. Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to testify about his role in the COVID-19 pandemic. However, instead of giving long-overdue answers to the public, he invoked the Fifth Amendment over 100 times - despite having received a pardon from former President Joe Biden.

The American people deserve to hear the truth from the bureaucrat who helped to shut down our schools, separate loved ones, cancel holidays, obstruct medical freedom, and ruin years of pivotal growth and development for our children.

We discussed our recent trip to Arizona, where we attended a series of meetings and roundtables with tribal officers, drug enforcement agents, and Angel Families to learn more about the fentanyl crisis and what we can do to stop it.

Apply to Decorate the White House
for Christmas

It might be the middle of summer, but the White House is already planning for Christmas!

Applications for those interested in volunteering this year to assist the President and First Lady with decorations or showcase their talents as a performer at the holiday open houses are invited to apply here. 

Meetings and District Events

My district office attended the 2026 Space & Semiconductor Supplier Matchmaking Expo, hosted by the Small Business Administration and Intel. The expo supports the federal government’s “Made in America” manufacturing initiative to strengthen domestic supply chains, empower small manufacturers, and enhance America’s economic resilience. Thank you to everyone involved for hosting this informative event!
