Team, we've got some good news to close out July.
Recent polling shows Democrats leading in five critical Senate battlegrounds:
- Texas: James Talarico leads Ken Paxton, 45%-40% (Texas Public Opinion Research)
- Georgia: Jon Ossoff leads his GOP opponent, 52%-43% (AARP)
- Maine: Troy Jackson leads Susan Collins, 49%-46% (University of New Hampshire)
- North Carolina: Roy Cooper leads Michael Whatley, 48%-44% (Public Policy Polling)
- Iowa: Josh Turek leads Ashley Hinson, 50%-46% (Fox News)
Read that again: Democrats are leading in Texas, Georgia, Maine, North Caroline, and Iowa. These aren't the states experts told us to watch six months ago, and now they're some of our best shots at flipping the Senate.
Polls aren't destiny. Being ahead in July doesn't mean anything if we don't have the resources to stay ahead through November.
