I wish I had better news to share today, but unfortunately, we just missed our August fundraising goal last night. Not by a lot. But every little bit can make a difference in this very close Senate election, especially with Donald Trump and Mike Pence returning to our state this week — which is why I’m extending our fundraising deadline. Here’s why this matters:
My Washington Republican opponent is being bankrolled by Mitch McConnell’s right-wing donor network. With our campaign leading in the most recent polls, they are looking for any weakness they can exploit.
Just a short while ago, more than $10 million was spent in a single week on TV ads in our race. Now, Trump is coming to our state again this Wednesday. North Carolina is expected to be the most competitive and expensive Senate election this year.
The goals we set for our campaign are real. They determine how much money we can afford to spend on ads spreading our message and defending us from GOP attacks and investing in on-the-ground outreach.
Unlike Thom Tillis, I refuse to take contributions from corporate PACs — which means a large portion of contributions to our campaign come from emails just like this. We’re powered by a whole lot of folks chipping in to our campaign to get our government working for the people again.
It is not an exaggeration when I say that whether or not we have the resources to fully fund our campaign could determine if we flip this Senate seat in November. If you can afford it, will you please rush an urgent contribution to our campaign ahead of Trump’s visit to North Carolina?
