Friend, it's Andrew.
Between the primaries, our Matching Deadline, and the day-to-day of working to make New York a better place ( hello data-center moratorium) , it's been a busy couple of months.
But that hasn't stopped us from celebrating America 250 — and Brooklyn 250 — in style!
Brooklyn 250 is a borough-wide commemoration of the historic Battle of Brooklyn during the Semiquincentennial of the United States. I helped bring this event to our district through $350k in state funding, and I've been proud to take part as we spent the summer celebrating Brooklyn's role in our nation's founding.

So far, we've celebrated New York's signing of the Declaration of Independence, toppled a fake statue of King George at Bowling Green, and learned about the role Black Americans played in the Revolution. This year's Battle of Brooklyn events will commemorate a defining moment in Brooklyn’s history while inviting new generations to engage with it.
Over the next few weeks, we're turning our attention towards the Battle of Brooklyn, the largest battle of the Revolutionary War and the first one we fought as a new nation!
Brooklyn 250 as a whole runs through the end of August. You can find all the events here. [[link removed]]
Friend, if you support this kind of community-focused work from your State Senator, then I need your help. I'm on the ballot this November, and I'm ready to keep fighting for more events like this that directly benefit our district. Will you chip in a donation of any amount toward my re-election campaign?
