Aloha Fellow Republicans,

While most of the keiki are already back in school and the rest of us are enjoying the last few days of summer, we canʻt forget that today, on Labor Day, we honor the hard-working Americans who fuel our country’s economic success.

Our President, and congressional Republicans, continue to be hard at work to ensure our country’s strong economy is working for all Americans. Our unemployment rate is at near generational lows, wages are growing, and job creation continues at a record pace. The Republican Party will never stop fighting for every American worker and the pro-growth policies that empower them to succeed!

But Hawaiʻi is being left behind. With Hawaiʻi being ranked as the worst state in the entire country for business and the second highest taxed state in the nation, we can only point to the failed policies of our Democrat-controlled government. And because of that, we need to have more Republican elected officials in our state and local government. But we can all do something about it.

Your Hawaiʻi Republican Party is hard at work at all fronts. We are creating coalitions all around the island to ensure they are in place for the critical 2020 election. We are building a war chest and identifying donors that will be able to fund critical races. We are engaging stakeholders at all levels and bringing talent to bear: communications, community engagement, candidate recruitment, and building the grassroots. We need you!

If you, like all of us volunteering at the Hawaiʻi Republican Party, see the political landscape similarly, then you realize that the 2020 election is a critical point for the future of our state and I hope you will consider joining our team. We need help at all levels, and the basic building block of success is the Neighborhood Team leader model. We need activists to engage in your community, knock on doors, make phone calls, host coffees or parties to organize and mobilize our voters. We are in the “build phase” of our Victory operations and laying this foundation in your neighborhood is key!

Why are we asking you to get involved? Did you know that Hawaiʻi ranks at the VERY BOTTOM for voter turnout in the country? We are looking to register conservative voters at every chance we get. Did you know that for every new Republican registered to vote, 87% vote in that election and vote Republican up and down the ticket? This is why we need all hands on deck, the Democrats rely on the status quo, but we have a real opportunity to turn voter apathy into a real game changer for us.

Come and join our efforts and be a force in your neighborhood. If you visit our website, www.gophawaii.com ([link removed][UNIQID]) , you can find the contact info of your District and County Chairs to help you get set up. You can also call us at (808) 593-8180 to get information or contact me directly at .

As the sun sets on a beautiful summer, let this be your time to make a real contribution to give our state a vibrant two-party system. We need you and look forward to hearing from you.

With warmest aloha,
SHIRLENE DELACRUZ OSTROV
Chairman
