DC residents have started deleting their DoorDash accounts in droves since learning the company instigated a federal bill that would devastatingly undermine DC’s autonomy.
Have you deleted your DoorDash account yet? Let us know if you have.
The bill that DoorDash supports would permanently revoke DC’s ability to set our own taxes. Rep. Maxwell Frost called it, “the worst attack on Home Rule since 1973.”
John Horton, DoorDash’s head of North American policy, said the decision to support the bill was motivated by the DC Council’s recent approval of a 20-cent fee on all third-party deliveries in the city — a measure to fund food access programs for low-income families. |

DoorDash's position on this anti-DC bill is indefensible — and it comes as the company has been silent about the federal agents killing and attacking their drivers both here and across the country. We demand the company to take the following steps:
We refuse to support a company that is attacking our rights. Delete your DoorDash account and when you have, let us know you've taken action and share your reasons why this issue matters to you.
