You could also change their hairstyles. What you couldn’t do was change their gender, turning your girl doll into a boy doll. It took the ascendancy of a crazy Democrat Party seduced by trans ideology to make that happen. In Gov. Tim Walz’s Minnesota, the Institute for Sexual and Gender Health at the University of Minnesota is launching a big project. They are creating a doll that allows children as young as 4 to alter genitals to turn a girl doll into a boy and vice versa. The “MyGender Doll” was developed by a PhD. Of course, you’d need an advance degree to come up with something as bizarre as this. (I wonder if the genital swapping is covered by Obamacare.) Dr. Dianne Berg said the dolls were necessary to “address the belief, ‘I’m not a ‘real’ boy because I don’t have these private parts,’ versus, ‘I am a real boy, whatever my anatomy looks like.’” I’m sure she (or they/he-who knows?!) was among the people six years ago screaming, “Follow the science!” In 2023, the institute awarded Gov. Walz their Distinguished Sexual and Gender Health Champion Award “for his outstanding efforts in protecting sexual and reproductive health care and gender-affirming health care.” Translated: they gave Walz an award because he did so much to promote abortion and the ideology straight out of hell that little children were born in the wrong body and can choose to take sterilizing drugs and have radical surgery to “correct” the situation. So, what is the modern Democrat Party known for? Well, among other things: big government, higher taxes, open borders. You know the list. But we can’t forget and we shouldn’t let America forget that a two of the biggest defining characteristics of the Democrat Party are abortion all the time and transgenderism for every child. Democrats want to kill the child in the womb. But if the child is lucky enough to escape, they want to rip healthy organs and body parts off of them as part of the worst lie adults have ever told children. So-called “gender affirming care” is so extreme that not even insane Nazi torturer Dr. Josef Mengele ever conceived of it. Why You Should Care Millions of us will never ask for an abortion or encourage anyone else to get an abortion. Millions of us will never have a baby girl or granddaughter and say, “That’s a boy in a girl’s body.” So, what does it matter? With everything else going on, why should you care? This insanity is already hurting our children and grandchildren in their schools and in sports. But there is a much bigger impact that is often overlooked. Any society that elevates abortion and transgenderism as fundamental rights is so sick it will be wrong about virtually everything else. Democrats think they are at war with Donald Trump. No, they’re at war with God. It’s God who says, “I knitted you in the womb. You were wonderfully and beautifully made.” It’s God who says, “I made them male and female.” If Western Civilization, which began believing that liberty comes from God, goes down the path that the Democrat Party and the leftist establishment are headed, we will rot from the inside out. To think that you can force an entire society to deny reality is the stuff of totalitarian fantasies. Elections Have Consequences Here’s another reason to care: Tim Walz—the guy who thinks all this insanity is just great—was almost vice president of the United States. Think of who would be secretary of education under “President Kamala Harris” and what would be taught in our schools today. Think of what they would be doing at Health and Human Services (HHS). Reports would be coming out of HHS claiming there are 57 genders. And yet with everything that was going on with Biden—open borders, sky-high inflation, out-of-control spending, cultural barbarism—the election was still very, very close. We won the popular vote for the first time in a while, but it was too close. Not agreeing on taxes or trade policy is one thing. Not being able to agree that men do not get pregnant is a clear sign of a society that is unraveling. Fauci Follow-up Sen. Bernie Moreno provided some of the most compelling moments during Dr. Anthony Fauci’s hearing yesterday. Since Fauci pleaded the Fifth 111 times, it was clear to Moreno that he wasn’t going to answer any questions. So, he took a different approach. Moreno asked people in the audience to stand up if they were mocked, shamed or smeared during the pandemic for saying things we now know to be true. A significant number of people stood. (Watch it here.) Moreno asked Fauci if he would turn around and look at the people who were standing. Moreno clarified that it really wasn’t a question but a request. Dr. Fauci had to consult with his attorney. Then he refused to apologize and “took the Fifth” again. This is a tactic that has been done to various witnesses in recent hearings to help people understand what is at stake. In a hearing, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg was asked to apologize to people whose children were harmed by social media. He did. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was asked to apologize to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein. He did. You have to be particularly evil to not be able to do even that. But Fauci had to consult an attorney first? It’s mindboggling. And it matters too. If we don’t learn from what we suffered through during the pandemic, we will lose our freedom again the next time there is another so-called “national emergency.” And we know the Left never lets a crisis go to waste. About That Pardon. . . Several senators noted that the pardon Joe Biden gave to Anthony Fauci dates all the way back to January 1, 2014—years before the COVID-19 pandemic. Why does the pardon cover a ten-year period going back to 2014? Of course, Dr. Fauci refused to answer any questions about the pardon. But 2014 is the year when the first grant was issued by Dr. Fauci, as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, to the EcoHealth Alliance. EcoHealth was run by Dr. Peter Daszak, and Daszak was funneling Fauci’s money to the Communist Chinese lab in Wuhan. That lab was doing gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses—research that was illegal in the United States. Polling Update You can almost smell fear in Washington, D.C., coming out of the Democrat National Committee. New polling in Michigan shows that Islamist Marxist Abdul El-Sayed is running 15 points ahead of Rep. Haley Stevens, the Democrat establishment candidate, in the Senate primary. There is a clear generational divide. Voters under 50 support El-Sayed 67% to 25%. Voters over 60 support Stevens 53% to 39%. If El-Sayed wins the Democrat nomination this coming Tuesday, Republicans have a good chance of flipping this Senate seat. Polling shows that former Rep. Mike Rogers, the GOP candidate, is running 10 points ahead of El-Sayed in general election matchups. What is powering El-Sayed’s surge in Michigan is the hard-left lurch of the Democrat Party toward socialism and communism. The latest CNN poll finds that roughly one-third of Democrats identify as “democratic socialists.” As we recently noted, the leaders of the Democrat Socialists of America identify as communists. The poll also finds that Democrats have a six-point advantage over Republicans when it comes to which party has the most motivated voters. Texas is another story. Far-left Democrat James Talarico is leading Attorney General Ken Paxton by five points—45% to 40%. It is hard to imagine how the GOP could maintain the majority in the Senate if they lose Texas. Presumably, this race will be a top priority for Elon Musk, who lives in Texas and has relocated most of his businesses to Texas. Iran Update President Trump and the United States are facing a very difficult situation in the Middle East. The military strikes that we have carried out since February 28th were very effective as far as they went. But in an age of drones, easy missile production and cyberwarfare, Iran is still able to threaten the world’s vital oil supply chain. Complicating things even further, Ukraine’s effective drone warfare is straining Russia’s oil production. While it’s true that millions of Iranians want freedom, it’s also true that the all-consuming fire of radical Islam still burns brightly in millions of Iranian hearts. If only 15% of the country shares the mullahs’ worldview, that would be 14 million people. They are dispersed throughout the entire country, and they have all the guns. Other than two atomic bombs dropped on Japan, no country has ever surrendered because of bombing. There is no stomach in the United States for another land war in the Middle East. Donald Trump knows this better than anybody. I can only imagine the weight that is on the president’s back. It’s a reminder of how much he needs our prayers.
